Great album by a great writer and great performer. I always thought Joell would be a standout if he had some good production, and the beat selection on this album is better than his previous projects, in my opinion. The title track, Mona Lisa, is a beautiful representation of the mind of an artist during the creative process. As an emcee myself, the song really hits home. He describes the fleeting moments of being in "the zone"; (Time is non existent like forever in a moment/ Wish this moment was forever, but it's forever been just moments) , and the feeling of not knowing how his work will be accepted or appreciated (How would they perceive it, will everyone receive it/ in the light that I intended, comprehending every meaning?/ Or will they just breeze through it like a gentle summer evening)
