Headless Cross is the fourteenth studio album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Released on 24 April 1989, it was the group's second album to feature singer Tony Martin and the first of three to feature drummer Cozy Powell.
"In 1989 when Headless Cross was released it was met with explosive reviews and swept the U.S. and England. Before its release, Black Sabbath had been in a slump for years during the 1980's struggling to find new material and even a new singer. Tony Martin answered the call and delivers a powerhouse performance for his second Sabbath album that is by far his best in his time with the band. Headless Cross ended the 1980's Sabbath the way it started, with a nuclear explosion of metal. Headless Cross is easily Sabbath's best release since the 1980 release of Heaven and Hell.
Headless Cross takes Sabbath in a direction it should go, into a dark Gothic world full of death and creatures of the night. From beginning to end, you'll be treated to some of the very best riffs Iommi has ever came up with along with a killer drum and with Martin's performance, Headless Cross is by all means a Metal masterpiece that rightfully deserves to be in every Metal collection without question or doubt. If you can find it at a decent price, don't hesitate as a certain woman (and we all know who) has virtually erased Tony Martian from Sabbath history making this album a difficult find at a high price."
