For an album released in 1972 the language on one of the songs (maybe two) was a little shocking. There were no "explicit" ratings then, so a song that has a line; "You're breakin' my heart, you're tearin' it apart so f_ _k you." was quite a surprise when I first heard it in the '70s. Quite common to here now (a little too common), but not then. It's an album full of contrasts, some mellow rock songs, some rocking songs, a country parody song, "Joy" (one of my favorites), and some somewhat silly songs, like "I'd Rather Be Dead". Though somewhat silly lyrics are not new for Harry. I do like all the original album songs though. The last 5 are "extras" that were not on the original album. The single version of "Daybreak" is somewhat curious to me, especially since the single "radio version" omits the line "it's pissin' me off" and just repeats another line... ironic considering "You're Breakin' My Heart". The other 4 are alright, but not great. I have heard the album described as a bit eccentric, and that works for me too. If you are a fan of Nilsson's music and his singing style it's a great album. Son Of Schmilsson is kind of like Harry let his inner teen-age boy out. : )

NM (Near Mint) Appears unplayed and will bear no marks, sleeve scuffs, or scratches.
EX+ (Excellent) May have one or two visible imperfections (i.e. sleeve scuffs, faint scratches, or other superficial marks) that will not affect playback.
VG+ (Very Good+) A few visible imperfections. These may include sleeve scuffs, light scratches, or other superficial marks.
VG (Very Good) Similar imperfections found on VG+ records but in slightly greater numbers. Records graded VG and above will typically not have any scratches that are deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
VG- (Very Good-) A number of visible imperfections; the presence of a considerable number of light scratches will force a VG- grade, as will the presence of significant isolated defects such as scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
G (Good) Record can be played without skipping, but will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. G+ and G- are used to indicate stronger and weaker copies within this range.
*SW/DNAP* Slight warp, does not affect playback
