Into the Music is the 11th studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, and was released in August 1979.
Unlike the mournful "Astral Weeks", Van Morrison's '79 "Into the Music" is a departure into a revelational spiritual theme. Clearly Morrison engaged into spirituality to write the 7:59 minute-powerful "The Healing Has Begun"
Starting with "Angeliou," as he writes.....Walkin' on a city street who would think you could ever be touched by a total stranger, not me.... Then the music carries you into the process of healing as Morrison says: We're gonna sit there and play for hours and hours when the healing has begun. Of course the Irish comes out here as he sings "for ars and ars and ars". Again, Morrison's influences reflect in his music: Muddy Waters and Jelly Roll.
Immediately following that passionate "Healing Has Begun", he goes into "It's All in the Game". Not written by Morrison, this `60's classic was made popular by England's Cliff Richards, who sings on "Best of Van Morrison". Towards the end of "It's All in the Game," without skipping a beat, he is into his "You Know What They're Talking About".
Also, the first half reveals the spiritual side with a frolicky happy sing-song tune "Rolling Hills",......among the rolling hills, I'll read my bible still. In "Full Force Gale" Morrison writes that he was lifted up again by the Lord.
